Hidari draws inspiration from the historical legend of Jingoro Hidari, a master woodworker during Japan’s Edo period. The plot follows a craftsman who loses his family and his right arm due to a deep betrayal involving the reconstruction of Edo Castle. He eventually seeks vengeance using a series of mechanical prosthetic limbs he designed himself, accompanied by an animated wooden companion known as Sleeping Cat.
Reeves has expressed significant enthusiasm for the artistic direction of Hidari, praising the creative team’s vision and the depth of the screenplay. He noted that the project contains all the necessary elements to become a truly unique and special cinematic experience for viewers worldwide.
