JustUpdateOnline.com – Singapore. GetGo, a prominent carsharing service based in Singapore, has revamped its technical monitoring and security systems. This move is part of a strategic effort to strengthen its digital foundation as the company prepares to venture into new geographical markets.

Currently managing a fleet of over 3,000 cars across 1,700 sites, GetGo relies on a complex mobile application built on cloud-native microservices. To ensure high service quality during its growth phase, the firm recognized the need for deeper insights into its distributed network to preemptively address technical glitches that could hinder the user experience.

Previously, the company’s technical infrastructure was managed through a disjointed array of monitoring tools. This fragmented setup made it difficult to maintain a clear overview of the system’s health. To solve this, GetGo integrated its security and observability functions into a unified platform via Datadog, providing engineering teams with a centralized dashboard for the entire ecosystem.

Kirivarnan Kumarasamy, GetGo’s Director of Engineering, noted that this consolidation has significantly boosted operational efficiency. According to the company, the transition has led to a 50% to 60% decrease in the time required to investigate software bugs. Furthermore, the speed at which the team detects and resolves system issues has improved by 30% to 40%.

By utilizing Real User Monitoring (RUM), the engineering department can now gain a transparent view of how the mobile application performs for drivers in real-time. This proactive stance allows the company to identify potential hurdles earlier in the process, ensuring a more reliable service for its customer base.

The shift from a reactive to a proactive engineering model is expected to be a cornerstone of GetGo’s scalability. With better visibility into application behavior and infrastructure, the firm can now make more informed decisions regarding performance optimization and future technology investments.

Looking ahead, GetGo is exploring the integration of artificial intelligence and agentic technologies. These advancements are intended to further enhance developer productivity, bolster digital security, and provide more tailored experiences for users as the brand expands its footprint.
